A metabonomic analysis of serum from Wilson′s disease rats using H NMR spectroscopy and pattern recognition

چکیده
Wilson’s disease (WD), characterized by hepatic and neurological abnormity, is a rare autosomal recessive genetic disorder of copper metabolism. It was first described as a syndrome by Wilson in 1912 [1]. Its morbidity is 1/30 000 1/100 000 on human individuals. Nowadays, the early diagnosis of WD still puzzles clinical doctors and WD patients are often unable to obtain timely and effective treatments. In this abstract, metabonomics based on nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) technique was applied to study the serum from WD rats to determine the characteristic metabolites. This would be helpful for the early diagnose of WD.

Metabonomic evaluation of idiosyncrasy-like liver injury in rats cotreated with ranitidine and lipopolysaccharide.
Idiosyncratic liver injury occurs in a small fraction of people on certain drug regimens. The cause of idiosyncratic hepatotoxicity is not known; however, it has been proposed that environmental factors such as concurrent inflammation initiated by bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) increase an individual's susceptibility to drug toxicity. Ranitidine (RAN), a histamine-2 receptor antagonist, cau...
متن کاملSurvey of potential diagnostic metabolite markers in serum of the rat model of Alzheimer’s disease using nuclear magnatic resonance (1H-NMR) technique
Introduction: The high prevalence of Alzheimerchr('39')s disease (AD) in todaychr('39')s societies indicates an urgent need for the development of methods that will help the early diagnosis of the disease. In this study, using proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry (1H-NMR) metabolomics, identification of altered and distinct metabolites in serum of the rat model of AD was performed com...
متن کاملH NMR Serum and Urine Profiles of Rats with Cognitive Function
Age related metabonomic changes in young and aged male albino rats have been investigated using Proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance ( 1 H NMR) spectroscopy. The studies were performed using ‘in vivo’ behavioral and metabonomic assessment in serum and urine of the rats. Significant changes (p<0.05) were obtained in the concentration of creatinine, allantoin and hippurate in urine. Also significant...
متن کاملMetabonomic Profiling of Serum and Urine by 1H NMR-Based Spectroscopy Discriminates Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and Healthy Individuals
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has seriously impacted the health of individuals and populations. In this study, proton nuclear magnetic resonance ((1)H NMR)-based metabonomics combined with multivariate pattern recognition analysis was applied to investigate the metabolic signatures of patients with COPD. Serum and urine samples were collected from COPD patients (n = 32) and healt...

Objective(s): Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is dysfunction of the central nervous system and as a neurodegenerative disease. The objective of this work is to investigate metabolic profiling in the serum of animal models of AD compared to healthy controls and then to peruse the role of ghrelin as a therapeutic approach for the AD.Materials and Methods: Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) technique was u...
